Mission Statement

The Learning Tree derives its energy from an ethical engagement with children, their families and the wider community to build a happy integrated environment where children’s natural curiosity is celebrated as the best basis for co-constructed learning.

Using creative play, observation, international planning and active exploration, the Learning Tree’s core goal is to contribute meaning fully to each child’s development as a socially capable, creative citizen who loves learning.

An enhanced teaching model, incorporating a ‘think-through curriculum’ involving an international approach to learning which identifies clear, individualised, child centred goals.

The ‘think-through curriculum’ is the Learning Tree’s unique take on the Reggio model and emphasises the importance of the child’s natural world as an ecological environment, within which children learn about themselves and each other, always within the context of the clearly identified learning goals. Within this child directed curriculum, children are understood as rights holders and encouraged to understand themselves and each other as equal, respected and valuable people.
